Wynns Michael Shiraz 2015

  • Product details
The fruit used for this wine is sourced from the best vineyards on the estate, only in years when the grapes are of a quality that lines up with previous vintages. First created in 1955, and named after the son of original proprietor David Wynn.
  • Tasting notes
The nose is fantastically inviting, spiced plum and raspberries are both lifted. The palate is rich and complex, vibrant red fruits and wrapped in super fine, silky tannins. Genuine concentration and refinement make this the zenith of cooler-climate/warm year Shiraz. Drinking fantastically now, but with cellaring potential for up to 20 years

Expert Reviews

Andrew Caillard, Master Of Wine

Medium deep crimson. Fragrant blackberry, cassis, graphite aromas with lovely integrated new oak complexity. Beautiful seductive pure dense blackberry black currant fruits with brambly/ grainy textures and roasted chestnut notes. Finishes minerally with superb fruit persistency and tannin plume. Understated power and elegance. Should get even better with some bottle age.
