VILLA MARIA WINES
NEW ZEALAND'S MOST AWARDED WINERY
Six generations of winemaking, honouring a proud heritage and creating the future.
It all started back in 1961, with just one young man by the name of Geroge Fistonich. He spent six decades helping to nurture and expand New Zealand's wine industry. From one man to a team of 250 permanent staff, growing 28 different grape varieties, and exporting wine to over 60 countries in the world, Villa Maria has become a prominent winery in both New Zealand, and the world.
Villa Maria grow their divine grapes in various locations. Marlborough, one of New Zealand's largest wine region that is world-famous for their crisp, fruit-driven Sauvignon Blanc. Hawkes Bay located in the cenreal of the North Island's East Coast, known for its diverse and dramatic landscape. Gisborne which is in the remote part of New Zealand averaging around 2,200 hours of sunshine a year. And lastly, Auckland the first of the Villa Maria vineyards.

Review and Tasting Notes
When your label has been declared one of the top ten most admired wine brands in the world by UK based Drinks International (in 2016) you can either take the applause or aim for number one. You can guess that Villa Maria has taken the second option and its Private Bin range aims for fruit-driven, ready to drink perfection. Villa Maria Private Bin Rosé 2017 is made in Hawkes Bay, on the east coast of New Zealand and with its red fruit and spicy flavour this wine is ready to party whatever the occasion.
Using cool harvested ripe grapes, this Villa Maria Private Bin Rosé is a lovely salmon pink colour and displays bright floral aromas typical of East Coast New Zealand wines. On the palate, it exhibits fresh rose petal and strawberry flavours along with guava and confectionery. This smooth, juicy, slightly spicy wine pairs beautifully with smoked salmon
