Madame Clicquot seized the reins of the Clicquot house in 1805, a widow at twenty-eight after just seven years of marriage to Francois Cliquot. The audacious, intelligent and widely travelled Madame Clicquot took her Champagne house to world-wide renown and this award-winning 2006 vintage truly does honour to her memory. Any client or colleague will be rapt with this fine Champagne in its black and yellow livery.

Tasting notes
Shiny with golden highlight and with very fine beads of bubbles, La Grande Dame 2006 has mineral and floral notes, with fresh fruit and baked goods. The palate has flavours of peach, apricot and marzipan superbly integrated with nutty, bready characteristics. Rich and smooth finishing, Champagne doesn’t get better than this. If drinking it with food, make it those French classics like truffles, oysters and dry-aged cheeses.
