  • Product details
Arriving in Australia from the Adriatic Coast of Croatia in 1903, the Tomich family has produced wines in Mildura since 1936 and three generations on, owns a terrific vineyard near Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. The first man to work the land was Johann Köhlhagen whose 1857 home still stands on the property. The Tomich family has kept its ancestral way of softly farming the land and their Tomich 1857 Family Reserve Chardonnay represents the very best in viticulture and winemaking and has wonderful structure and style.
  • Tasting notes
Pale straw coloured Tomich 1857 Family Reserve Chardonnay has aromas of ripe yellow stone fruit with a touch of melon, nut and baked goods. It has a good round mouthfeel, and a complex creamy palate of stone fruit with a hint of caramel from the French Barriques it spent 18 months ageing in. The finish is clean in the classic Burgundy style. This is a wine that is genetically perfect with quiche Lorraine.
