Stonier Pinot Noir 2018
Stonier Winery is located in Mornington, Australia, a true maritime climate location where the region is surrounded by water on all three sides. No vineyard is further than 7km from the ocean at any point. The terroir of such a cool climate maritime area is ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; both of which are Stonier’s specialties. This region allows Pinot Noirs to have more ‘oomph’ than Willamette and Burgundy. Fuller bodied, richer tannins, and more intense fruit flavours make this wine unique and more opportunistic on the pairing front.
Dark cherry aromas and flavours are intense and full in the 2016 Stonier Pinot Noir with hints of plum and blueberry. Spicy oak influences and an abundance of tannins make this Pinot full and unique. All of your favourite flavours of Burgundy and Willamette; only intensified. This medium-bodied and tannic Stonier Pinot Noir is an excellent pairing for a rich roasted lamb and rosemary dish. Drink now or hold for three more years.
