Rosso Antico Regular 750ml
World-famous vermouth, Rosso Antico is made by Buton, who once provided spirits to the French Emperor Napoleon I. After Napolean was exiled, Jean Buton moved the family to Bologna and founded their first Italian steam distillery in 1820, the year still embossed on the identical shaped Rosso Antico bottles today. Rosso Antico is made by macerating 32 herbs in five different types of wine resulting in a ruby-red aperitif with a subtly sweet flavour of citrus and vanilla. Best served chilled with a lemon wedge, Rosso Antico is an excellent cocktail mixer and makes for an intriguing twist on a Negroni.
A dark, chocolate colour with a slight amber hue, the nose of Rosso Antico is intense and complex with Floral notes followed by tropical spices and grassy. The palate is rich and well-balanced with an initial sweetness and a pleasant level of acidity fills the mouth yet leaves space for a mild, persistent bitter mouthfeel.
