Rockburn Pinot Gris 2015
Rockburn takes its name from the rugged, rock-strewn, burn-scarred landscape of Central Otago the world’s most southerly grape-growing region. The vineyards are surrounded on the west by mountains that receive 5000mm of rain a year and on the east by a moon-Iike landscape that receives less than 25mm of rain a year. This unique landscape helps makes Rockburn Pinot Gris not only a vibrant fruity delight but also a gold medallist at the 2018 Sydney International Wine Competition.
The Rockburn Pinot Gris is a pleasant, approachable wine that opens with fragrant notes of apple, pear, nectarine, and a touch of pineapple. The crisp, off-dry palate is rich and silky, layering bold fruity characters around a robust acid structure. The wine finishes bright and clean and is fantastic to enjoy with lightly spiced Asian cuisine.
