Petaluma was established in 1976 and this proudly South Australian winemaker sources the right grapes from the right regions for the right wine, simples. This 'distinguished vineyards' policy dictates Cabernet from Coonawarra, Chardonnay from the cool Adelaide Hills and Riesling from the Clare Valley. The Chardonnay and Pinot for the excellent Croser Vintage Sparkling come from their seven Piccadilly vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, the highest elevation of SA’s wine regions. All this attention to detail delivers a lush and creamy sparkling wine for all seasons but especially those hot summer al fresco parties.

Vintage 2013 - This is a tactical wine that we all need to keep on hand in our sparkling arsenal, an impeccably crafted Adelaide Hills style that ducks strategically under the price of any champagne worth drinking. There impressive drive of taut, lemon juice acidity derived from high altitude Piccadilly Valley vines, offset beautifully with the subtle spice of partial fermentation in old barriques. Fine, chalky, mineral acidity carries long on a finish of impressive linearity. Tyson Stelzer, Tyson Stelzer.com, 2013.
