Penfolds Grange 2014 Gift Box Signed by Peter Gago
Penfolds Grange has been widely recognised as the gold standard red wine of Australia and has been managed by chief winemaker Peter Gago since 2002. Peter is only the fourth person to hold this title since Grange creator, Max Schubert was first appointed in 1948. This gift-boxed bottle of Penfolds Grange 2014 was signed by Peter Gago at the November 2018 Penfolds Re-Corking Clinic held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Sydney so if you want something touched by greatness inside and out, this it is.
Deep plush garnet throughout, Penfold’s Grange 2014 is an aromatic meander via wafts of shiitake mushroom stock, hoisin and XO sauce, dry-aged beef and game meats, olive-leaf, cardamom, sage and thyme saltbush, acacia, dried and dusty bracken. The palate is savoury slow-cooked beef ragout, chicken liver game terrine with liquorice also apparent leading through perfect oak to a long and lingering finish.
