Penfolds Bin 95 Grange Shiraz 1997
Inspired by the winemakers of Bordeaux, Penfolds’ first Chief Winemaker Max Schubert made his first experimental wine in 1951, proudly gave management a tasting, only to find nobody liked it and he was ordered to shut down the project. He continued to craft his Grange in secret, and Penfolds, Australia and the world are eternally grateful for one of the planet’s great wines. The Grange Shiraz 1997 maintains the legend of the consistency of this Icon so invest in a great experience with confidence.
A concentrated palate of blackberries, sage, leafy flavours, fine-grained tannins and plenty of smoky, mocha oak notes deliver a complexly beautiful palate. The finish is chocolatey and long.
