Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay 2017
Leading the cool-climate Chardonnay cavalry charge, this multi-regional blend truly reflects the winemakers’ mantra to go where the fruit grows best and where it’s best suited to the style. The Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay 2018 vintage is all about citrus fruits from Adelaide Hills, Tumbarumba and Tasmania with a mineral acid backbone. As winemaker Peter Gago kind of says, this is never the poor cousin of Bin A and Yattarna, this is a clever wine ready to impress you!
Lemon lime aromas and a unique dusting of rock, limestone bring a unique set of scents to the nose. There is little oak influence after spending only 8 months on French oak. The Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay is ready to drink now until 2025.

2017 vintage - Chardonnay made with grapes sourced from the Adelaide Hills, Tasmania and Tumbarumba regions. Clean, pure, highly varietal nose. White peach and nectarine, a flintiness rising. The palate introduces toast, malt, wheaty elements and a little funk, though it’s well contained. There are many elements here and yet they present in unison. Dry, serious finish. Bristling length. Excellent wine. Will mature beautifully.
