Mount Pleasant Lovedale Museum Semillon 2013
Semillon is the white wine Hunter Valley is famous for, and Mount Pleasant founder Maurice O’Shea planted its Lovedale Vineyard in 1946. He had studied viticulture and oenology, before lecturing at France’s Montpellier University and was such a legendary winemaker that there is now a prestigious award named in his honour. Mount Pleasant Lovedale Semillon is one of the great Semillons of the world, and this ripe and juicy Hunter Valley classic will be a great conversation starter at any occasion.
The Lovedale Semillon has only improved with time, having retained its fresh acidity while maturing to full-flavoured glory. Mouth-watering aromas of lemon meringue pie and delicate botanicals waft from the glass, setting the stage for a ripe and juicy palate. Notes of sweet tropical fruit, tart lemon and lime, and crunchy golden hay are intricately layered throughout, waiting to be uncovered and savoured. This is an excellent vintage to enjoy with cheeses and antipasto.

Vintage 2010-Still as fresh as a daisy, its freshness accentuated by a touch of CO2 spritz deliberately left in the wine; the result is an unusual conjunction of delicacy and intensity, the explanation lying in its purity. It is truly difficult to visualise the end point of a semillon such as this.
