    Both Cabernet and Sauvignon work their magic on the palate combining to give generous blueberry, blackberry and red currant flavours. The season delivered near-perfect conditions for fruit ripeness evident in classic Moss Wood tannins which are classic Moss Wood and rounded out by subtle oak.

Bob Campbell, The Real Review

Vintage 2015 - Serious Cabernet Sauvignon with intense cassis, dried berry, cedar, spice, liquorice and new leather flavours. A firm backbone of ripe tannins suggests good cellaring potential. Slightly closed right now but showing plenty of promise.

Vintage 2009 - All guns blazing with the blockbuster 2009 vintage. This has a sense of thorough ripeness and is dripping with promise _ still very young. Plenty of cedary oak, rich, dark and brambly berry fruit aromas, dark chocolate and rich plum essence here, graphite too. The palate is full of plump, fleshy texture and slippery tannins unfurl effortlessly, delivering nutty flavours amid dark cherry and plum fruits. Toasty oak off the back palate; a grand wine in the making.

Vintage 2013 - Hand-picked, destemmed to open fermenters with cultured yeast, 7 days fermentation and 7 days post-ferment maceration, matured for 28 months in French barriques (30% new). A powerful, full-bodied cabernet that still manages to achieve finesse thanks to the perfect balance of fruit, oak and tannins. An autocratic portrait of cabernet, and of photographic reality.


Huon Hooke, The Real Review

Vintage 2015 - Deep red/purple colour, with a lightly toasty bouquet featuring some smoky oak, quickly giving way to violet and blackberry aromas with a sprinkling of dried herbs; the palate intense and fresh, clean and lively, with brilliant depth of dark and red berry fruit flavours. The acidity is refreshing on the finish and the tannins are firm and upright. This seems to be a more elegant style of Moss Wood, but still concentrated, and a long-term keeper. This is a great Moss Wood cabernet.
