Knob Creek Single Barrel 9 Year Old Bourbon 700ml
When Prohibition was lifted in the USA in 1933, the drinking ban was overturned overnight and distillers rushed to meet the sudden demand, selling barrels of Bourbon that had barely been aged, making softer, mild-flavoured whiskey the standard in the process. Over 25 years ago master distiller Booker Noe set out to create a pre-prohibition style Bourbon he named Knob Creek, after Abraham Lincoln’s home. Knob Creek Single Barrel 9-Year-Old Bourbon is a full-flavoured pre-prohibition Bourbon not for the faint-hearted and is best savoured neat over ice.
Knob Creek Single Barrel displays perfect clarity and is coppery coloured. It has a strong bourbon nose with all the favourites of maple syrup, vanilla and wood. On the palate, the vanilla is there again and more oak that gives way to a long, long finish to savour.
