In 1758, the King of Spain gave a plot of land in Mexico to José Maria Guadalupe de Cuervo to allow him to start his agave plantation on the slopes of the Tequila Volcano. And so was born Jose Cuervo Tequila, the oldest and best-selling Tequila in the world. Jose Cuervo Especial Silver is only aged for a couple of months to give a cleaner flavour so is the best Tequila for mixing in a Margarita, Mai tai or Tequila Sunrise.
