Henschke Julius Riesling 2018
Cyril Henschke developed the Henschke reputation for premium Riesling wines as early as the 1950s from the vineyard areas of Eden Valley, Keyneton and Springton in South Australia’s Eden Valley wine region. This region provides ideal ripening conditions for the Riesling grape and has a unique track record of exceptional vintages for the variety. The wine is named after Cyril’s uncle Julius Henschke, a highly acclaimed monumental mason and sculptor who passed in 1955 and we don't know if he ever got to taste this ripe and zesty Riesling named in his honour.
Henschke Julius is characterised by delicate floral and zesty aromas, the palate is pure and bursting with ripe lime and succulent white currant flavours. The texture is layered and paves the way for a very lion, fine, dry finish, which makes it a stunning match with blue swimmer crab.
