Henschke Eleanor Cottage Sauv Blanc Semillon 2016
Henschke has been in the Eden Valley since 1858 when the Henschke Eden Valley vineyard was originally established on the top of the range overlooking Eden Valley. This property was pioneered and managed by George Crossman Thyer, whose wife Eleanor this wine is named for along with their original cottage, which still exists today. The vineyard’s light and airy vine canopies ensured this 2016 Eleanor Cottage Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is rich, fruity, very drinkable and great value
This Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is abundant in aromas on the nose of gooseberry, lemongrass and lifted citrus. Big on the front of the palate with the quintessential citrus flavours along with a nod to stone fruit bringing through that lovely sweetness. Crisp acid, excellent length, a beautiful wine that goes superbly with Asian inspired fish dishes.
