Distillerie de Provence Absente Absinthe 700ml
Absinthe is a green colour and used to be referred to as "la fée verte" (the green fairy) by the writers and artists of La Belle Époque. Absinthe originated in Switzerland in the late 18th century a distillation of Artemisia Absinthium from blending alcohol, mugwort infusion, star anise essence, balm, peppermint and anise distillates. Absente was the first legal absinthe liqueur containing thujone launched in 1998 and the classic serving suggestion is to drip water onto a sugar cube on a spoon suspended over the absinthe until it dissolves, or enjoy it over ice or with crushed ice too… Santé!
Green in the glass, Absente Absinthe is delicate and fragrant on the nose with the aniseed from the star anise the dominant note. On the palate, it is delicate and sweetly spiced, with the anise staying around for the finish.
