    Devil’s Lair takes its name from a cave hidden deep in the South of the Margaret River region, which has evidence of life 50,000 years ago and is one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites. Phil Sexton bought land in this cool southern part of the Margaret River in 1980 and with his viticulturist Simon Robinson, planted the vines that are still used to make Devil’s Lair Margaret River Chardonnay today. The cool breezes are perfect for the fruit, and this multi-layered, refined wine is ready to enjoy now.
  • Tasting notes
    The Devil’s Lair Chardonnay nose has vibrant melon and freshly cut white nectarines complemented by honeysuckle and nougat complexity. Pink grapefruit and pears mingle with white stone fruits with mouth-watering acidity. The palate is impressively precise and fine but with flavour that penetrates and builds to a very long finish.

Vintage 2016 - Bright straw-green; a seamless union of perfectly ripened chardonnay and subtle French oak; the flavours are in the white flesh stone fruit spectrum, citrussy acidity providing length and balance.
