Devil's Lair Fifth Leg Red Blend 2016
Devil’s Lair Winery takes on a New Age approach to winemaking and is not set to traditional standards or practices. This modern approach to viticulture and winemaking allow them to lead the way in innovative and environmentally friendly practices. Minimal impact on the land allows them to respect the history of people living in the Margaret River area over 50,000 years ago. Fifth Leg is an off-shoot of Devil’s Lair. This blend includes Shiraz, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon and spends nine months in French oak.
Vibrant purple in colour, this unique blend of cool climate Shiraz, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon is jaw-dropping. The palate is filled with mixed berries, spices, toasty oak, and a smooth finish. The blend gives a good tannic structure but is soft enough to drink now. Pair with venison, cured meat and cheese plates, and roasted lamb.

Vintage 2016 - Deep colour; a rich, velvety full-bodied shiraz with black fruits of every description, licorice and bitter chocolate/earthy nuances; the tannins are ripe and well-balanced, the only issue a slight lack of drive on the finish after the strong start.
