Cloudy Bay Te Wahi Pinot Noir 2015
In its relentless passion for exploring new territories, Cloudy Bay arrived in 2010 at the most extreme, southerly and continental New Zealand terroir: Central Otago. Te Wahi was born. Te Wahi expresses the mysterious side of Central Otago through Cloudy Bay’s winemaking lens. The southernmost vineyard on earth, an untamed and hostile territory where Cloudy Bay decided to grow its most exclusive wine. The aromatics of the Te Wahi Pinot Noir burst with red and black cherries, black plum and rich Christmas cake spices.
The nose is rich with cherry and plum fruits and some Christmas spice. The palate is richly textured and decadent with an elegant freshness and tannin structure. The finish is long, focused and complex. The favourite pairings for Te Wahi include wild game and duck, venison and wagyu beef.
