Bleasdale Pinot Gris 2018
Their vineyards are situated on the floodplains of the Bremer River in Langhorne Creek, benefiting from the cooling breezes across Lake Alexandrina, and the cool slopes of the Adelaide Hills. Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris grapes are grown by specialist Adelaide Hills growers. The fruit is handpicked and delivered to the historic Bleasdale cellars, a short drive away in Langhorne Creek.
This delicate wine shows all the spice and perfume we expect from cool climate Pinot Gris. Nashi, ginger and rosewater perfume leads to a rich and textured palate with nutty complexity from the barrel ferment component, finishing crisp, fresh and balanced. A cool flowering period and dry growing season resulted in intense crops with good fruit concentration and natural acidity. Handpicked grapes are whole bunch pressed to tank for settling. 20% Wild yeast fermentation in seasoned oak puncheons to build texture and complexity. The remainder is fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness & purity.
