Bird in Hand
Bird in Hand Syrah 2017 (Sustainably Farmed)
Bird in Hand started up in 1997 determined to grow grapes sustainably, working their vineyards using as little chemical interventional as possible. Their Bird in Hand Syrah is a relative newcomer; the first vintage was 2016 made exclusively from the Bird in Hand estate vineyard in Woodside in the cool-climate Adelaide Hills. This, the second vintage of Bird in Hand Syrah 2017 vintage took home the trophy for 'Best Australian Red Wine' at the prestigious International Wine Challenge (IWC), so a wine to watch, buy and enjoy with the crew.
Bird in Hand Syrah 2017 is bright in colour, with vivid purple hues. Brooding and focused with elegant floral black fruits on the nose and cool climate elegance. The palate shows pure raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, understated oak, and fine tannins. This Syrah is a terrific food match, pairing beautifully with charcuterie and soft cheeses.
