Armagnac Delord 1989 Bas Armagnac 700ml
The Delord house distillery in the village of Lannepax, France has been making Armagnac, a kind of brandy, since 1932. Delords grow Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes in their vineyards to make into wine, which is then distilled through alembic stills from November through to the end of December. Delord has a large and consistent range of vintages of this classic Armagnac and this 1989 vintage is one of their best, to be sipped from a brandy glass.
Amber Bas-Armagnac 1989 is copper coloured and the nose is complex with orange highlights and aromas of candied fruit, vanilla, and pepper. The mouth is powerful with notes of orange preserve with aromas of stewed apple leading to a long woody finish with persistent orange peel and honey.
